In March and April 2026, Laurentian SETAC volunteers judged primary, intermediate, and senior-level science fair projects at the Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair in Hamilton, Ottawa Regional Science Fair, and Peterborough Regional Science Fair. Laurentian SETAC sponsored two awards at each fair to projects that conducted research in a field related to environmental chemistry, pollution, contamination, remediation, environmental protection, ecology, or toxicology.
Bay Area Science & Engineering Fair (March 12)

Intermediate: A Novel Biodegradable Treatment to Limit Drought and Wildfire Disaster and Retain Soil Nutrients - by Claire Shen
Senior: Removal of Aquatic Microbial Biocontaminants with Ozonide: An Assessment of Apoptosis in Wild Type and CRISPR-Cas9 iPT Homozygous Knockout Cell Lines - by Ella Sehn
