Our next pub night will take place on Thursday April 23 at Graffiti Market in Kitchener. Join us for an exciting evening of student-led science at the Undergraduate Student Showcase Pub Night! Students from across southern Ontario will share their research projects from the past academic year. Each student will present a 5-minute lightning talk, and there will be a period for questions at the end of all presentations. Get ready to learn all about a variety of fascinating ecotox topics! The evening will feature research on a diverse array of aquatic life, including marine benthos, freshwater mussels, fish, and amphibians. Data will be presented on several different toxicants, from emerging contaminants such as personal care products and disinfectants to ongoing concerns such as wastewater treatment plant effluent.
Join us to support student research and learning, and enjoy some snacks provided by our event sponsor, the Laurier Institute for Water Science!

This sounds like a fantastic initiative bringing together students and researchers in a relaxed, engaging environment. The idea of short lightning talks combined with open discussion is a great way to share diverse environmental science projects and encourage networking across Southern Ontario. Events like this really strengthen the scientific community. While exploring creative fields like book cover design UK, it’s inspiring to see how interdisciplinary ideas can connect with science communication.
